The Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre features a main arena with tiered seating for 5269 spectators designed for sports and entertainment events.
The facility opened in June 2004 with a construction cost of 167 million dollars and received a 40 million dollar expansion in 2009 adding exhibition halls.
The venue maintains a central position in Australian sports, having hosted professional basketball teams, netball competitions, and numerous national sporting championships.
The center connects directly to The Star Gold Coast through a 270-meter covered walkway and provides 1400 parking spaces with access from Gold Coast Highway.
The complex will serve as a competition venue for volleyball during the 2032 Summer Olympics and powerlifting events during the Paralympic Games.
