Eagle Farm Women's Prison and Factory Site, Heritage archaeological site in Eagle Farm, Australia.
The prison complex contained multiple timber buildings including a superintendent's house, cook house, classrooms, hospital, and cell blocks for female inmates.
From 1829 to 1839, the facility operated as part of the Moreton Bay penal settlement, housing female convicts who received second convictions.
The site represents early attempts at separating male and female convict populations while maintaining agricultural production through female convict labor.
Located at 116 Lamington Avenue, the former prison grounds currently form part of the Australia TradeCoast industrial development area.
Female prisoners cultivated 680 acres of land with crops like maize and potatoes while dealing with health issues from the nearby swamp.
