All Saints Anglican Church, Brisbane, Anglican church in Spring Hill, Brisbane, Australia
All Saints Anglican Church is a church building in Spring Hill constructed in the Gothic Revival style using rough-faced stone walls of rubble, porphyry, and sandstone. The interior is equipped with one of only three Lewis Organs in Australia and contains some of the oldest stained glass windows in the city.
The building was established in 1862 and completed in 1869 following a design by Benjamin Backhouse, making it the oldest Anglican church building still in operation in Brisbane. It is listed on the Queensland Heritage Register and represents an important example of 19th-century architecture.
The church has long served as a gathering place for the Anglican community in the area and continues to be a center for worship in Spring Hill. Worshippers value the Anglo-Catholic traditions practiced there and appreciate how the space connects them to centuries of religious life.
The building is easily located at 32 Wickham Terrace in Spring Hill and sits in a quiet neighborhood with good accessibility. Visitors should note that the church is open primarily for worship services, so it helps to check opening times in advance.
The organ inside is one of only three Lewis Organs in Australia and is remarkable for its craftsmanship. The stained glass windows date to the earliest days of the city and showcase artistry from a time when the region was still developing.
