Enchanted Floral Gardens of Kula, Maui, Botanical garden in Kula, Maui, Hawaii

The Enchanted Floral Gardens of Kula, Maui is an 8-acre botanical garden at 2,500 feet on the slopes of Haleakala in Kula, southeast Maui. It holds over 2,000 subtropical and tropical plant species from around the world, with an emphasis on fruit trees and flowering plants such as hibiscus, orchids and proteas.

The garden was formerly known as the Enchanting Floral Gardens. It closed for four years and reopened in 2017 under the name Enchanted Floral Gardens of Kula, Maui. It was created to promote knowledge of the useful and ornamental plants found around Maui.

The garden was created to promote knowledge of both useful and ornamental plants found around Maui. It also runs a parent-child programme of outdoor exploration and games, designed to encourage hands-on interaction for that age group, with opportunities for play and learning in a nature-based setting.

Visitors could take self-guided tours at their own pace, with a typical visit lasting around one hour. The higher elevation meant cooler temperatures than lower parts of the island, so bringing a light layer helped with comfort.

The garden sits at 2,500 feet on the slopes of Haleakala, where the cooler air lets subtropical and tropical plants from around the world grow at altitude. Its roughly 2,000 species are weighted toward fruit trees and flowering plants such as hibiscus, orchids and proteas.
