Kīpahulu Campground

Kīpahulu Campground in Haleakalā National Park features 21 camping sites across walk-in and drive-in locations, with one group site positioned on Pacific Ocean cliffs. The facility provides direct access to trails and natural features along East Maui's coastline.

The establishment of this campground in the twentieth century enabled controlled access to East Maui's remote coastal region. The national park thereby created a visitor gateway to an area that had previously seen limited public use.

Hale Hālāwai, a gathering house near the campground, serves as a venue for Native Hawaiian events and cultural performances. Visitors can experience traditional practices and the heritage of the area in this setting.
