Zacoalco de Torres is a municipality in Jalisco state with scattered communities and agricultural lands. The settlement functions as a local hub with markets and small businesses serving the surrounding region.
The region was conquered by Spanish captain Francisco Cortés de San Buenaventura in 1524. It received its present name in 1829 to honor General José Antonio Torres.
