Hidden Valley Campground

Hidden Valley Campground is a campground in Joshua Tree National Park offering 44 individual camping sites nestled among desert terrain. The layout naturally incorporates large granite boulders and Joshua trees that rise throughout the property.

The campground became part of Joshua Tree National Park in 1936 when federal protection was established for the area. This protection helped preserve the natural desert landscape for public use.

Rock climbers from around the world gather at Hidden Valley Campground to practice their sport on the numerous granite rock formations.

Bring your own water as the campground has no water supply, though it does provide pit toilets and fire rings for use. Planning ahead for self-sufficiency in water and basic amenities is recommended.

The large granite boulders between campsites create natural walls that provide privacy and wind shelter to each spot. These rock formations make each site feel somewhat secluded from its neighbors.
