Playa Blanca

Playa Blanca is a coastal settlement on the Pacific shore featuring a white sand beach that stretches between rocky points and backed by green mountains. The water is clean and shallow in many spots, ideal for swimming without heavy development nearby.

The settlement began as a small fishing village and gradually grew as more residents moved to the area seeking coastal living. The transformation remained gradual, preserving much of the original character while welcoming newcomers.

Fishing families form the backbone of daily life here, their work shaping how the community functions and what food appears on local tables.

Getting here by taxi or rental car from Zihuatanejo takes roughly 30 minutes, giving you easy access to the beach. Few shops or food stands operate directly on the beach, so bringing supplies or planning a meal beforehand works best.

Sea turtles nest along specific beach sections during breeding season, offering visitors a rare chance to witness these creatures during their natural lifecycle. Whales also pass by seasonally, turning the area into an informal wildlife watching destination.
