Naucalpan de Juárez extends across an area at 2,600 meters above sea level, combining residential neighborhoods with industrial zones near Mexico City.

The establishment of the Rio Hondo plant in 1869 initiated the industrial development of Naucalpan, transforming it into a major manufacturing center by 1975.

The name Naucalpan derives from Nahuatl language, meaning 'place of the four neighborhoods', with Juárez added in 1874 to honor the Mexican president.
