Naucalpan de Juárez Municipality, Administrative municipality in State of Mexico, Mexico.

Naucalpan de Juárez is an administrative unit in the State of Mexico that combines residential areas with industrial zones at roughly 2,600 meters elevation. The municipality borders Mexico City directly and organizes itself into more than 100 distinct neighborhoods.

The founding of the Rio Hondo plant in 1869 began the industrial development that transformed the area. By the mid-1970s, the municipality had become a major production hub.

The name comes from Nahuatl and means 'place of the four neighborhoods', while Juárez was added in 1874 to honor the Mexican president. Today nearly all residents live in the continuous urban area that directly borders the capital.

Major roads like Anillo Periférico and Viaducto Bicentenario connect the area to the capital and help with getting around. Most neighborhoods sit close together and form a dense settlement core.

The municipality counts 119 named neighborhoods, yet nearly the entire population lives in a single continuous urban area. This density makes it one of the most closely settled places in the metropolitan region.
