Ángel Custodio, Contemporary sculpture in Puebla City, Mexico.
The yellow metal sculpture, constructed from iron and acrylic enamel mixed with bronze, stands 17 meters tall near the center of Puebla.
Mexican sculptor Sebastián created this abstract representation of a guardian angel, which was installed on November 7, 2003 during Luis Paredes Moctezuma's administration.
The design drew inspiration from the Winged Victory of Samothrace and incorporates 26 black marble stars arranged on its base steps.
The monument remains accessible to visitors despite discussions in 2017 regarding its potential relocation due to the construction of Line 3 transportation system.
The structure contains a time capsule filled with letters from local residents, scheduled to be opened on April 16, 2031, marking Puebla's 500th anniversary.
