Teleférico de las Grutas de García

The Teleférico de las Grutas de García is an aerial lift system that travels across approximately 625 meters while rising about 280 meters to the cave entrance in the limestone formation. The cable route connects the lower area to the cave opening, allowing visitors to reach the underground network with ease.

The Grutas de García were discovered in 1843, revealing underground chambers with limestone formations that developed over about 50 to 60 million years in an ancient marine setting. The aerial lift system was later added to make access to this geological site more convenient for visitors.

The cave passages carry names like El Teatro and La Capilla that reflect how people recognize and relate to the natural formations as familiar spaces. Visitors often share their own interpretations of these underground chambers, creating personal connections to the landscape.
