La Huasteca

La Huasteca is a climbing destination and urban park featuring limestone cliffs that tower over 300 meters high. Desert vegetation and rock formations frame numerous climbing routes and walking paths that wind through the canyon.

This area was originally home to indigenous peoples before transforming into a modern recreational space. Archaeological traces of early settlements remain visible throughout the canyon today.

Local groups use this space to teach climbing skills to young people while building connection to the natural environment. These programs bring community members together and create lasting bonds between visitors and the canyon.

The main entrance is located at Morones Prieto 327 with parking areas, rest zones, and equipment rental available. Wear sturdy footwear and bring plenty of water, as sun exposure in the canyon can be intense.

This location contains more than 250 established climbing routes across varying difficulty levels, drawing sport climbers from across northern Mexico. This extensive variety makes it a preferred destination for climbers of all skill levels.
