Brackenridge Park Golf Course, Municipal golf course in San Antonio, United States
Brackenridge Park Golf Course is an 18-hole course measuring about 6,243 yards (5,710 meters) with a par of 71 and tree-lined fairways throughout its layout. Water features and bunkers are distributed across the course to create challenges for golfers of different skill levels.
The course was designed in 1916 by architect A.W. Tillinghast and served as the original home of the Texas Open Tournament starting in 1922. This early tournament history helped establish its place as an important golfing venue in the region.
The Texas Golf Hall of Fame is located here, showcasing memorabilia and honors related to the sport's regional history. Visitors can walk through the displays and connect with the golf community that has gathered at this place over many decades.
Golfers can book tee times for rounds throughout the day, with early morning and late afternoon slots typically available. Equipment rental and instruction are offered on site for those who need them.
The course underwent extensive restoration in 2008 to recreate the original 1916 design while meeting current playing standards. This work brought back Tillinghast's intended layout while ensuring it remains challenging and enjoyable for today's golfers.
