Kiddie Park
Kiddie Park is a small amusement park in San Antonio designed for young children with gentle rides and simple attractions. The park features traditional rides including a hand-carved carousel and Ferris wheel, along with play areas, picnic tables, and a snack bar for visitors.
The park opened in 1925 and is one of the oldest children's amusement parks in the country, maintaining its 1920s style throughout the years. In summer 2019, it relocated from its original location at Broadway and East Mulberry Avenue to inside the San Antonio Zoo, where it continues to preserve its classic rides and nostalgic character.
The park holds a special place in the community as a gathering spot where families pass down traditions across generations. The hand-carved carousel and original Ferris wheel serve as symbols of the simple, timeless joy that locals associate with childhood and family outings.
The park is now located inside the San Antonio Zoo, offering visitors easy parking and clear navigation between rides. Individual tickets cost 3 dollars per ride, or visitors can purchase a wristband for unlimited rides for 14 dollars, with meals and add-ons like face painting available separately.
The park features a hand-carved carousel and other rides that have been preserved since the 1920s, giving visitors a chance to experience classic amusement from another era. These original attractions are rare examples of functioning vintage rides seldom found in modern amusement parks.
