Alief Elsik High School, Public high school in southwest Houston, United States.
Alief Elsik High School is a public secondary school in southwest Houston with multiple buildings across the campus. The facility includes academic classrooms, sports areas, and a separate building dedicated to ninth-grade students.
The school opened in 1975 and started with ninth-grade students only. Over the next few years, the school expanded to eventually serve all grade levels by the end of the decade.
The school community brings together students from many different family backgrounds and neighborhoods across Houston. This mix shapes how students interact daily and creates an environment where different perspectives naturally come together.
Classes run on a seven-period schedule with 50-minute sessions most days. On Wednesdays, class periods are shortened to allow time for teacher professional development.
Athletic facilities are shared with the neighboring Alief Hastings High School, including a jointly used football stadium. This arrangement allows both schools to access and compete at the same venue.
