1700 Pacific, Modern skyscraper in City Center District, Dallas, United States

1700 Pacific is a 49-floor office skyscraper at 1700 Pacific Avenue in Dallas, completed in 1983 to designs by WZMH Architects. Its tower rises 655 feet (200 m) above a stepped lower section, clad in brown or bronze-toned panels with a dense grid of square glass windows in continuous vertical columns. A lower wing to the right carries the inscription "FIRST SOUTHWEST COMPANY" beside a small blue logo.

Completed in 1983, 1700 Pacific was Dallas's second-tallest building, behind only Renaissance Tower. Its site was once two triangular blocks split by Live Oak Street; in 1977 the Dallas Transit Board bought one for a proposed underground transit interchange. The tower was designed by WZMH Architects, first owned by Berkeley First City L.P., and renovated in 2011.

The lower wing carries the inscription "FIRST SOUTHWEST COMPANY" beside a small blue logo, a reminder of the building's corporate tenants. Since 2008 a 25,000-square-foot fitness center called "Elevation" has served occupants, and the Dallas Business Journal listed it among the building's facilities in 2013.

The tower occupies the block at 1700 Pacific Avenue, between Live Oak Street and the City Center District core. The office floors are not open to the public, so visitors see the bronze-toned facade and the "FIRST SOUTHWEST COMPANY" inscription on the lower wing from the street. The site was assembled from two triangular blocks split by Live Oak Street, so the building's footprint follows an angled street grid.

The building site originally consisted of two separate triangular plots divided by a street. This unusual configuration required special planning to create the unified tower structure.
