Augusta Sledge House

The Augusta Sledge House was a residence built in 1855 with architectural features of the cottage orné style, which was popular among plantation owners in that era. The structure was demolished around 2010 and no longer stands on the property.

The building was constructed in 1855 during the height of plantation agriculture in Alabama and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. This recognition honored its place among the plantation houses of the Alabama Canebrake region.
