Pato Branco

Pato Branco is a city in southern Paraná located at about 760 meters (2,500 feet) in elevation. The municipality covers 537 square kilometers with a mix of developed central areas and surrounding rural landscapes.

The settlement began in 1942 as a small village and was declared an official municipality in 1952. This establishment marked a turning point in regional development.

The city serves as an educational hub, with a Federal University of Technology and private colleges that draw students from across the region. These institutions shape daily life and give the place a youthful character.

The local airport offers regular flights to Curitiba for connecting with other regions. The downtown area contains plenty of hotels and shops for visitors to use.

The climate here is unusual for Brazil, with winters dropping close to freezing and occasionally bringing snow. These rare weather conditions occur because of the city's elevated location.
