Coastal States Building

The Coastal States Building is a 27-story office building approximately 115 meters tall located at 260 Peachtree Street in downtown Atlanta. Its modernist structure features clean geometric lines and reflects the commercial architecture style of its era.

The building was completed in 1971 by architectural firm Sidney R. Barrett & Associates and contributed to Atlanta's growing financial district. A comprehensive renovation in 2001 modernized its technical systems and facilities for contemporary office use.

The building displays design features typical of 1970s office architecture in the Southeast, sharing aesthetic elements with other contemporary high-rises across the region.

The building sits in the heart of Atlanta's business district with good access to public transportation. Keep in mind that this is an active office building, so access to certain areas may be restricted depending on business hours.

After its 2001 renovation, the building retained its original exterior appearance while its interior systems were completely updated. This contrast between preserving the facade and modernizing within makes it an interesting example of adaptive reuse in urban development.
