TWELVE Centennial Park, Residential skyscraper in Downtown Atlanta, United States
TWELVE Centennial Park is a 39-story mixed-use tower in downtown Atlanta, located directly beside Centennial Olympic Park. It brings together residential units, a hotel, and street-level retail and dining spaces all within a single building.
The tower was built between 2005 and 2007 as part of a broader effort to revitalize downtown Atlanta. The original plan called for two towers, but the second was never started after economic conditions shifted in the late 2000s.
The tower sits within walking distance of the Georgia Aquarium, CNN Center, and the College Football Hall of Fame, placing it at the heart of downtown Atlanta's most visited area. People staying or living here move between these places on foot without needing to think much about it.
The building is right on the edge of Centennial Olympic Park and easy to reach on foot from the nearby museums and business district. Visitors in the area can access the ground-floor shops and restaurants without needing to enter the residential or hotel sections.
The lot intended for the second tower still sits empty beside the existing building, clearly visible from the park. This open gap in the middle of a dense city block gives an unexpected sense of how a project can be frozen in place for years.
