Seaside Plantation House

Seaside Plantation House is a Federal style brick building with a gable roof and a long porch running along its southeast side. The structure combines different construction methods, with a central stuccoed brick section and wooden additions on the ground floor.

The house was built around 1810 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. This recognition honored its architectural importance to the region.

The house reflects the agricultural traditions that shaped the region, with its design revealing how rice and indigo cultivation once dominated local life. Walking through the property, you can still sense the economic importance these crops held for the community.
