Pacific Art League, Arts organization in downtown Palo Alto, California.
The Pacific Art League is an arts organization in downtown Palo Alto located in a historic building on Ramona Street. It provides art classes, workshops, and gallery spaces where people can develop creative skills and display their work.
The organization was founded in 1921 by around 40 artists with ties to Stanford University. It began as the Palo Alto Art Club and took its current name in 1984.
The gallery here displays work from local and regional artists on a regular basis, making it a gathering place where the area's creative community shares what they make. You can see how artists from different backgrounds and experience levels engage with the space and with each other.
The building sits in downtown Palo Alto and is easy to find on foot. You can stop by to learn about current exhibitions and classes offered, and the space welcomes both members and visitors.
The building was designed by architect Birge Clark, and you can still see his design choices in the spaces. During a 2014 renovation, structural improvements were made while keeping the original character intact.
