Milpitas Grammar School, School building in Milpitas, California, US
The Greek Revival structure features four classrooms, offices, and an auditorium within its classical architectural design at 160 North Main Street.
Constructed in 1916 by Theodore Linfield Wolfe to replace a wooden Victorian schoolhouse that burned in 1912, the building cost $13,212 to complete.
The building transformed from a grammar school into multiple civic functions, including City Hall, Police Department, and Senior Center over several decades.
The structure now functions as part of the Milpitas Library, the largest facility in the Santa Clara County Library system at 60,000 square feet.
During the three-year construction period of the current building, students attended classes in a temporary facility at a nearby ranch.
