McLeod Residence, Art gallery in Belltown, Seattle, United States
McLeod Residence was an art gallery occupying the second floor of a mixed-use building in Belltown with six exhibition rooms and a dedicated area for members. The spaces provided room for contemporary artworks and were equipped with modern display technology.
The gallery was founded in December 2006 and operated for two years hosting art exhibitions in Belltown. In October 2008 local fire safety regulations led to the closure of the space.
The space combined art exhibitions with technological elements where visitors encountered interactive displays that presented contemporary works in new ways. This blend of traditional gallery and digital innovations created an unusual experience in the art world.
Visitors should head to the second floor of the building in Belltown and plan enough time to see all six exhibition rooms. The space was best accessed by going directly to the building and allowing time to experience the various art installations.
The bathroom mirrors in the building were equipped with special technology that captured images of visitors and transformed them into photomosaics. These interactive displays showed all previous visitors in artistic form on a wall.
