Mission Ridge Ski Area, Ski resort in Chelan County, United States.
Mission Ridge Ski Area is a ski resort in the Cascade Mountains of Chelan County, Washington state. It offers a range of runs for different ability levels, along with on-mountain dining and a base area with rental and service facilities.
The resort opened in the 1960s as a winter sports destination in eastern Washington. It grew steadily over the following decades, adding lifts and facilities to meet demand from the surrounding region.
Mission Ridge sits on the eastern side of the Cascades, where the snow tends to be drier than on the western slopes. Many visitors come from the Wenatchee valley and treat the mountain as a local gathering place on winter weekends.
The resort sits on the drier, sunnier east side of the Cascades, so weather conditions can differ noticeably from the western slopes. Checking snow reports before the drive up is a good habit, especially later in the season when conditions can change quickly.
Mission Ridge maintains a network of snowshoe trails that run separately from the ski slopes, giving non-skiers a way to explore the mountain on foot. These trails are easy to miss when arriving for the first time, so it is worth asking at the base area for directions.
