Little Jacks Creek Wilderness spans 50,929 acres of land featuring deep canyons, basalt plateaus, sagebrush grasslands, and streams at elevations between 3,500 and 5,900 feet.
The United States Congress established Little Jacks Creek Wilderness through the Omnibus Public Land Management Act, which President Barack Obama signed into law in March 2009.
The Bureau of Land Management maintains this wilderness area where visitors follow traditional Leave No Trace principles to preserve natural landscapes for future generations.
Visitors access the wilderness through Mud Flat Road from Grand View, Idaho, continuing twenty miles to reach trailheads for hiking, camping, and wildlife observation activities.
The wilderness contains a designated wild river section stretching 12.4 miles through canyons that reach depths of 1,000 feet above meandering waterways.
