The district encompasses East York, Riverdale, and Leslieville with a population of around 105,000 residents and roughly 76,500 registered voters.
This electoral district was established in 1976 as part of a major electoral reform that redrew constituency boundaries. The creation brought together portions of Broadview, York East, and Greenwood areas to form a unified district reflecting population shifts in East Toronto.
