Dazhimen railway station
Dazhimen railway station, Former railway station in French concession of Hankou, China
The Dazhimen railway station features a Gothic architectural design with a Latin cross floor plan and accommodates up to 400 people inside its main building.
Initially constructed during the Ming Dynasty's Hongwu Period around 1368, the station transformed from Zhonghe Gate of Wuchang into a significant transportation center.
The station structure combines Chinese and European architectural elements, reflecting the influence of colonial-era design during the early twentieth century in Wuhan.
The original station location now sits beneath Dazhi Road Station, which serves as an interchange point for Lines 1 and 6 of the Wuhan Metro system.
The station building represents one of the final remaining examples of colonial railway architecture in Wuhan, maintaining its original structural integrity.
