Dazhimen railway station is a former station featuring Gothic architectural style and a Latin cross floor plan, with interior space for approximately 400 people. The site now sits beneath the modern Dazhi Road Station, which functions as a transfer point for Lines 1 and 6 of the Wuhan Metro system.
The original site was built as Zhonghe Gate during the Ming Dynasty around 1368 and later transformed into an important transportation center. This conversion to a railway station reflects Wuhan's development during the colonial era.
