Wuhan Yangtze River Bridge, Road-rail bridge in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China.
This double-deck truss bridge spans the Yangtze River for approximately 1,670 meters (5,480 feet) with a main span of 128 meters (420 feet), carrying highway traffic on its upper level and railway tracks on its lower level.
Construction began on September 1, 1955, and the bridge officially opened on October 15, 1957, becoming the first structure to cross the Yangtze River and connecting northern and southern China by road and rail.
Recognized as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level, the bridge represents a monument to Chinese engineering progress and national development during the mid-20th century.
Bus routes including numbers 607, 585, 596, and 707 provide access to nearby stations such as Pinghumen and Wangjiawan, making it convenient for travelers to reach the bridge and its viewing platforms.
Two towers at each end of the bridge rise 35 meters (115 feet) with seven stories, equipped with lifts that allow visitors to access observation points offering views of the Yangtze River and Wuhan's three districts.
