Tangle Falls is a multi-level waterfall standing 48 meters tall on the Icefields Parkway, where water drops over rocky ridges to form several smaller streams. These currents converge into a central cascade that flows with varying intensity depending on the season.

The Icefields Parkway was completed in the 1930s, making this waterfall accessible to travelers exploring the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The road fundamentally changed how people experienced the mountain parks in the region.

The waterfall stands as a natural landmark along the route connecting Banff and Jasper, drawing photographers throughout different seasonal transformations.

The waterfall can be reached directly from Highway 93 with a parking area close by. Restroom facilities are located across the road and are easy to access from the viewpoint.

Tangle Falls sits on the western slopes of Tangle Hill, 7.47 km north of the Columbia Icefield visitor centre and about 100 km south of Jasper. Its three terraces are 14, 18 and 13 feet wide, and the water joins the Sunwapta River, a tributary of the Athabasca, just below the parkway.
