BOK Tower, Skyscraper in downtown Tulsa, United States
BOK Tower is a 52-story office skyscraper in downtown Tulsa, standing as the second-tallest building in Oklahoma. The structure connects to neighboring buildings through covered walkways and serves as headquarters for Bank of Oklahoma along with additional office space.
The tower was designed by Minoru Yamasaki in 1976 as an adaptation of the World Trade Center's first tower in New York. Its construction marked a turning point in Tulsa's development as a modern financial hub during the oil boom era.
The tower reflects how oil wealth shaped Tulsa's identity and ambitions during the 1970s. Its design and prominence in the skyline show how the city wanted to assert itself as a major financial center.
The building has multiple ground-level entrances and is easily accessible from downtown streets. Visitors can explore the ground-floor plaza area with shops and dining options or simply view the architecture from the street.
The plaza underwent major renovation in 2022 with the addition of a garden terrace and food hall featuring multiple restaurants. This update transformed the ground level into a social gathering space that locals and visitors enjoy throughout the day.
