Turtle Cove Beach

Turtle Cove Beach lies between Red Hill and Stanley, stretching 73 meters along the coastline with mountains rising behind the sandy shore. The beach is framed by rock formations on both sides, creating a sheltered small cove.

The beach achieved its Grade 1 water quality classification following extensive coastal water improvements across Hong Kong in the early 2000s. These improvements were part of a major initiative to restore water quality throughout the entire region.

Weekends bring families to the seven barbecue pits where locals enjoy traditional outdoor gathering practices that are popular in Hong Kong. Grilling at the shore serves as a social meeting point for neighbors and friends.

The easiest way to reach the beach is by taking bus 14 from Sai Wan Ho MTR station exit A or minibus 16X from Chai Wan station. The best time for swimming is during the summer months when the water is warm and conditions are calmest.

The natural mountain formation surrounding the beach shields it from strong waves and keeps swimming conditions consistently calm year-round. This natural barrier makes it an ideal spot for beginners and families who prefer safe water.
