Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple, Religious temple in Pétion-Ville, Haiti
The Port-au-Prince Haiti Temple is a religious structure in Pétion-Ville with exterior walls of limestone composite material and multiple rooms for different religious functions. The building contains an instruction room, a sealing room, and a baptistry for religious ceremonies.
The building was constructed following a groundbreaking ceremony in October 2017 and opened to the public in September 2019. The opening marked an important moment for the religious community in Haiti.
The building displays regional design elements with blue, green, and gold patterns representing palm leaves and hibiscus flowers found throughout the Caribbean. These colors and motifs reflect the natural beauty and heritage of the island.
The building is located at the intersection of Route de Frères and Impasse Saint-Marc in Pétion-Ville and requires advance notice for visits. Plan ahead since the building does not provide clothing rental services for those who need them.
Before this temple opened, community members had to travel many hours to reach the nearest similar facility in the Dominican Republic. This completion became a major event for access to worship in the region.
