Hermagor District, Administrative district in southern Carinthia, Austria.
The Hermagor district spans across 808 square kilometers in the Gailtal Valley, bordered by the Carnic Alps and contains seven distinct municipalities.
The district's central town received its name from Saint Hermagoras of Aquileia and obtained market rights in 1288 as a trading center.
The district maintains strong connections to Alpine traditions through its mountain settlements, regional cheese production, and preservation of agricultural practices.
The district center, Hermagor-Pressegger See, coordinates administrative services for 18,435 residents across connected municipalities including Dellach, Gitschtal, and Lesachtal.
