Heydər Əliyevin heykəli

This monument is a 5.2 meter tall work made of bronze, granite, and brass that portrays a standing figure in formal attire with a determined expression. The materials create different surface textures that reflect light differently throughout the day.

The work was designed by two artists and unveiled in 2005 to honor a significant figure in Azerbaijani history. It came into being during a period when public monuments became important expressions of national identity.

The statue depicts a figure in formal stance and serves as a gathering place where visitors can see how the country honors its past leaders. People gather here on national occasions, making the site an active part of Baku's civic life.

The site is located in central Baku and is easy to reach, with several access routes and parking nearby. Visitors can walk around the plaza to view the structure from different angles and there is ample space to see the details.

The surface was crafted using three different materials, which means the appearance shifts depending on the time of day and how light falls on it. This design makes the monument a visual experience that continuously reveals itself in new ways.
