Pukaskwa National Park, National park in Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada
The wilderness park extends over 1,878 square kilometers of boreal forests, granite cliffs, and sandy beaches along Lake Superior's northeastern shore.
The Canadian government established Pukaskwa National Park in 1971, making it the first national park to protect Lake Superior's northern coast.
The Anishinaabe people left stone structures known as Pukaskwa Pits across the park's beaches, marking their centuries-old presence in the region.
The Hattie Cove campground, accessible through Highway 627, provides the only road access to the park and serves as the starting point for trails.
The Coastal Hiking Trail stretches 60 kilometers along Lake Superior's shore, passing through remote wilderness and ancient rock formations.
