Agnéby, Administrative region in southern Côte d'Ivoire.
Agnéby was an administrative region in southern Ivory Coast, with Agboville serving as its main center and capital. The territory encompassed four departments that each handled local governance and development within the broader regional structure.
The region was established in 1997 as an administrative division and existed until 2011. During a major administrative reform, its territory was split between the newly created regions of Agnéby-Tiassa and La Mé.
The region contained four departments - Adzopé, Agboville, Akoupé, and Yakassé-Attobrou - each contributing to local governance and development.
The region sits in the southern part of the country and is easily accessed through Agboville. Visitors should note that this area no longer exists as an administrative division and should focus on its constituent departments and the new regions that replaced it.
During its existence, this region incorporated territory that had previously belonged to the Lagunes Region. This layering of administrative boundaries makes it valuable for understanding the governance history of southern Ivory Coast.
