Zhongyuan Tower, Television and observation tower in Guancheng District, Zhengzhou, China.
Zhongyuan Tower is a television and observation tower in Zhengzhou standing 388 meters tall with a hyperbolic parabola shape and sleek modern design. The steel structure contains 13 elevators serving different levels, including a revolving restaurant and observation decks with city views.
National approval was granted and construction began in December 2006, with the tower opening to the public in September 2011 after major engineering work was completed.
The exterior walls display relief sculptures of Chinese mythological figures such as Nüwa, Hou Yi, and Pangu, merging modern design with traditional storytelling. Visitors can spot these decorations while walking around the tower and learn about these legendary characters.
Visitors can reach different levels using 13 elevators to access the revolving restaurant and observation decks for city views. Clear days offer the best visibility for taking in the panoramic sights from the heights.
The third and fourth floors house 'Jinxiu Zhongyuan', a panoramic painting recognized by Guinness World Records as the world's largest. This artistic work displays local landscapes and cultural scenes in impressive detail across a massive canvas.
