Muztagh Ata, Mountain peak in Kashgar Prefecture, China.
Standing at 7,546 meters, Muztagh Ata features a gentle western slope and rises above the northern edge of the Tibetan Plateau within the Pamir Mountains.
The first documented climb attempt was made by Swedish explorer Sven Hedin in 1894, while the summit was reached in 1956 by a Chinese-Soviet team.
The name Muztagh Ata translates to 'Father of Ice Mountain' in Turkish, reflecting the deep connection between local communities and this natural formation.
July and August offer the most suitable climbing conditions, with base camp established at 4,450 meters for proper altitude acclimatization.
The mountain's gentle slopes and consistent weather patterns make it one of the most approachable 7,000-meter peaks for climbing expeditions.
