Hung Hom station, Railway and metro station in Yau Tsim Mong District, Hong Kong
Hung Hom is a railway and metro station in Yau Tsim Mong District with seven operational platforms spread across multiple levels. The station connects the East Rail Line with the West Rail Line and features ticket facilities, customer services, and commercial spaces throughout its structure.
The station originally opened in 1975 as Kowloon Station, replacing a wooden structure that had operated from 1910 to 1921. This long operational history reflects the site's ongoing importance as a transportation hub between regions.
The station serves as a major hub where Hong Kong residents and travelers cross between Hong Kong and mainland China daily. It has become a natural meeting point where people gather before journeys or navigate through the city.
The station has multiple entrances and clear signage to help you navigate to platforms and facilities easily. Multiple shops, restaurants and cafes are located throughout different levels, making it convenient to spend time before or after your journey.
Until 2020, overnight sleeper trains departed from here to Beijing and Shanghai, with journeys lasting about 24 and 19 hours respectively. These long-distance connections were significant for travelers before service ended.
