The Wuhan Yangluo Yangtze River Bridge is a single-span, two-hinged steel box girder suspension bridge over the Yangtze, with a 1,280-metre main span and a 2,330-metre bridge length within a 10-kilometre project. Its two main cables, 0.85 metres in diameter, are carried by portal-frame towers of reinforced concrete, 171 metres on the north bank and 164 metres on the south, fitted with box-steel scissor braces and sightseeing lifts inside.

Planning for the Yangluo crossing grew out of a 1990s Wuhan programme to relieve the congested 1957 First Bridge, the city's only river link for four decades. Work began on 4 November 2003, the towers were capped in April 2005, and the bridge opened on 26 December 2007 at a cost of 1.964 billion yuan. It was Wuhan's fourth Yangtze bridge, about 25 km downstream of the Second Bridge (1995) and Baishazhou Bridge (2000).

The bridge carries the G70 Fuzhou–Yinchuan Expressway and the G4201 Wuhan Ring Expressway, and its 10 km of new expressway formed the last major section of the ring road. It was Wuhan's first suspension bridge to cross the Yangtze in a single span, and its two towers hold sightseeing lifts about 130 m up.

The bridge carries the G70 Fuzhou–Yinchuan Expressway and the G4201 Wuhan Ring Expressway, with its north bank in Xinzhou District's Yangluo Economic Development Zone and its south bank at Xiangjiawei village, Bajifu Subdistrict, Hongshan District. It stands about 25 km downstream of Wuhan's central crossings, so allow for that distance when planning a drive across.

The 1,280-metre main span matches the Golden Gate Bridge exactly, but the Yangluo towers are taller: 163.3 metres on the north bank and 169.8 metres on the south, both of reinforced concrete with two prestressed x-braces each. The deck rests on prefabricated concrete sections with an epoxy asphalt roadbed, stiffened by a 3-metre steel brace structure.
