Meixian District

Meixian District extends across 2,476 square kilometers of northeastern Guangdong Province, surrounding the central urban area of Meizhou with 19 administrative subdivisions.

The district evolved from Chengxiang county during the Southern Han Dynasty through multiple name changes, including Jiaying county, before receiving its current designation in 1911.
