Lee Garden One, Office skyscraper in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong
Lee Garden One is a 240 m (789 ft) office tower at 33 Hysan Avenue on Lee Garden Hill, Causeway Bay, with 52 floors and a seven-storey podium shopping centre. The tower has a triangular plan, a blue glass curtain wall divided into vertical sections, and a band of greenish glass near the top, where white "Manulife" letters are mounted on two sides of the roofline. It was designed by Dennis Lau's firm and completed in April 1997.
The building stands on the former site of Lee Gardens Hotel, which was demolished in 1994. This replacement marked Hong Kong's shift toward modern tower development in an established business district.
The seven-storey podium mall opened in October 1997 and holds Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Hermès, Dior, Cartier, BVLGARI, Joyce Boutique and Valentino. Its 4th and 5th floors are restaurants, now West Villa Restaurant and An Nam. A footbridge over Yunnan Road links it to Lee Garden Two.
The tower sits at 33 Hysan Avenue on the old Lee Garden hill in Causeway Bay, with the seven-storey mall podium opening onto Hysan Avenue and a footbridge over Yun Ping Road linking it to Lee Garden Two. The 4th and 5th floors hold restaurants such as West Villa Restaurant and An Nam. In October 2023 the first V4 Supercharger station in Asia opened here.
In October 2021, singer Hins Cheung climbed to the lightning rod on the roof, about 246 metres up, to shoot the poster for his 20th-anniversary Hong Kong Coliseum concerts. The tower's name changed too: it was Manulife Plaza until Manulife moved most of its floors out in 2010, after which it reverted to Lee Garden One.
