Moore Temple Ruins

Moore Temple is a Buddhist temple site with two distinct stupas, one round and one square, surrounded by foundations of multiple ancient structures. These remains spread across an archaeological area containing fragments of walls and building elements from centuries past.

Founded in the 3rd century, the temple complex served as a place of worship for about 700 years until the 10th century. This long span of active use shows the site's importance to the Buddhist community across many generations.

The site shows how Buddhist monks designed and used their sacred spaces in this region. Artifacts made from clay and textiles reveal everyday life among residents of that period.
