Baguio Villa, Private residential estate in Pok Fu Lam, Southern District, Hong Kong.
Baguio Villa is a private residential estate in Pok Fu Lam comprising 33 residential blocks situated across Victoria Road. The complex houses around 1,500 units arranged in upper and lower sections, developed through multiple construction phases.
The estate was constructed by New World Development between 1975 and 1979 as a major residential development on Hong Kong Island. Its completion in several phases represented a significant expansion of housing in the southern part of the island.
The property incorporates numerous green spaces and gardens throughout its 800,000 square feet, with only ten percent used for residential construction.
The estate is a private residential community and generally not open to public access. Those with permission to visit will find multiple amenities including swimming pools, tennis courts, and a supermarket within the grounds.
A landslide struck the estate in May 1992 that resulted in casualties and prompted Hong Kong authorities to introduce a new rainstorm warning system. This incident fundamentally changed how the territory approaches disaster preparedness for weather-related hazards.
