Old Wan Chai Post Office

The Old Wan Chai Post Office is an L-shaped building located at the intersection of Queen's Road East and Wan Chai Gap Road, with pitched roofs and ornamental gable ends. The structure combines straightforward postal office design with early colonial architectural features characteristic of its construction period.

The building was constructed between 1912 and 1913, opening as the Wan Chai Post Office in 1915 and serving the community until its closure in 1992. After decades of use, it gained protected monument status and has since been repurposed as an education center.

The structure shows hallmarks of early colonial design that shaped Hong Kong's streetscape during the early 1900s. Visitors can see how the architectural choices reflect the building practices and aesthetic preferences of that era.
