Tai Fu Tai Mansion, Historic mansion in Yuen Long District, Hong Kong.

Tai Fu Tai Mansion is a mansion in Yuen Long with a traditional Chinese layout featuring two courtyards, three main halls, and side chambers arranged symmetrically. The building displays both Eastern and Western architectural features throughout its design.

The building was constructed in 1865 by the wealthy Man Chung-luen, who received the title of Tai Fu from the Qing Dynasty emperor for his accomplishments. This title became the mansion's name.

The mansion incorporates Chinese design elements through granite blocks, grey tiles, and ceramic decorations from the Shiwan pottery tradition. These crafted details are visible throughout the courtyards and across the walls.

Access is available daily except on Tuesdays and major Chinese holidays. Visitors should wear comfortable shoes and allow adequate time to explore the interior and courtyards fully.

The mansion displays European influences through Rococo carvings, colored glass windows, and geometric patterns in the balustrade elements. This Western decoration was skillfully blended with the traditional Chinese architecture.
