Man San Ye Ancestral Hall

The Man San Ye Ancestral Hall is a traditional Chinese building composed of three connected halls separated by two interior courtyards arranged in a balanced, symmetrical pattern. The structure displays classic architectural features with carefully crafted wooden carvings and decorative elements visible throughout each room.

The hall was founded roughly 700 years ago by Tang Fung-shun and represents one of the oldest family structures in the area. Over the centuries, several renovations were carried out to preserve the original design, making it a record of ongoing family stewardship.

The hall serves as a gathering space where Tang Clan members come together to perform traditional ceremonies and maintain the ancestral tablets. The rooms are designed to support these family rituals and strengthen the connection across generations.

The site is easily reached by public transportation and sits along the Ping Shan Heritage Trail, where visitors can book guided tours throughout the year. It helps to wear comfortable shoes since the path to the hall follows walking trails and the complex itself invites exploration on foot.

The hall contains intricately carved wooden details and decorative motifs that tell the story and identity of the Tang Clan. These handcrafted details are often overlooked, but they reveal the high level of artistry that went into constructing the complex.
