The site was previously occupied by the New Territories South Animal Management Centre before relocating. The station's construction began in 2013 following the relocation of this facility.
Local artist Ng Ka-chun created glass canopies with community members, with patterns that reflect the neighborhood's identity. This design shows how the station expresses people's connection to their area.
